About The Author
Olin Dodson has traveled widely to Costa Rica and other Central American countries since 1978. He holds an undergraduate degree from Eckerd College and graduate degrees from San Francisco Theological Seminary (Theological Studies) and Sonoma State University (Clinical Psychology).
He has worked for numerous non-profit organizations throughout his career and has volunteered as a Big Brother and basketball coach for the Special Olympics, and in 1979, he and two friends organized the first Mendocino Headlands 10-Kilometer Run for charity. With the staff of the Hospital de Niños in San Jose, Costa Rica, he organized the Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition Project for Costa Rican children in 1991.
Dodson was a delegate to the International Association of Family Therapists in Krakow, Poland in 1990. In 2001, he was named Director of Clinical Affairs for Presbyterian Medical Services in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the first Behavioral Health Clinician to serve in that position.
Dodson is a professional consultant, instructor, and public speaker. He conducts workshops on grief and resiliency for clinicians and the general public. Melissa's Gift is his first book.
